Our Process & Materials

We use the following materials in manufacturing our Windows and Doors:

TIMBER

Constructed using European Oak, Meranti or Redwood Pine. Multi-layered laminated sections (also known as Wengineered sectionsl) help to eliminate seasonal movement and warping.

STEEL

Steel windows offer better strength, security and maintenance over comparable alternatives. Steel is the strongest frame material and the profile of a steel window is much less than that of aluminium, allowing a much greater surface area for the glazing. Steel frames are almost virtually maintenance free and the strength of the material combined with multi-point locking greatly enhances the security of the buildings in which they are installed.

ALUMINIUM

Despite their light weight, aluminium windows and doors are of very high quality. Their extreme stability and resistance against deformation there won't be any cracks or ruptures visible even after many years. As a metal, aluminium is a highly durable and robust material. It does not absorb any moisture and therefore does not expand when exposed to the elements. It does however still expand from heat, but the extremely firm corner connections hide any visible expansion.

HARDWARE

Weight's & Pulleys for traditional or conservation application. Spiral Balances for new build where the reduced sectional dimensions are required. Tilt Slide for enhanced security and performance. Available in brass, polished chrome or gtin chrome, our windows come with your choice of high quality fasterners, lifts, handles and/or locks. We have a large stock of gmples in our showroonm for you to choose from.

GLAZING

As standard all units are fitted with 22mm argon filled units to provide a U value below 1.5 W/m2k Our enhanced conservation sashes are glazed with slimlite” glazing. Options on glazing include: Toughened, Laminated, Acoustically Enhanced and Obscure. Advice on glazing regulations in accordance with Part F will be provided by your consultant.

FINISH

Our high performance paints and stains will maximise the life of your windows allowing maximum duration between maintenance. Unlike re-painting in the past the re-application of finish does not require laborious scraping and sanding. Modern micro-porous paint systems allow the timber to breathe preserving the integrity of the wood. When the time comes a light sanding over the window will provide a key to reapply the top coat. All our products can be finished in any RAL colour, dual colour available.
